Cabins at River House: River View 2

This new cabin has two bedrooms with private bathrooms, Jacuzzi tubs, king-size beds and gas-log fireplaces.

There is a full kitchen, a large living room with a gas-log fireplace and a covered deck with a view of the New River.

Pets welcome.

There’s a mile of riverfront for strolling, wading, tubing, canoeing and fishing.

Brown trout and rainbows abound. Walking trails wind through 170 acres. Our uniquely decorated guestrooms are converted farm buildings and feature king-size beds, private bathrooms, Jacuzzis, art, books and country antiques. Awake each morning to coffee at your door followed by breakfast in the main house.

For dinner, our restaurant offers exquisite regional cuisine, an international wine list, and a full-service bar with all ABC permits.

Showcasing some of our rooms…

Our guest rooms are all in converted farm buildings behind the main house. We’d much prefer to be less literal – to have you open a creaky old door and be surprised to find the king-size bed, the big Jacuzzi, the gas-log fireplace, the art,  the books – but since you insist …

< Next door to Room 1 behind the stone wall was Doc’s parking space. You may have to duck when you enter the bathroom because we used a great old door that is not standard issue. Anyway, that brings you down to the level of the Lilliputian lavatory in a little antique vanity. Don’t worry, the shower is Brobdingnagian.

Cabins at River House: The Granary

The “Granary” at Gayle’s Great-Grandpa’s farm is about 6 miles from River House just over the border in Virginia.

The farm is 40 acres of rolling hills and woods to explore, plus a pond with catfish and bass and carp for watching.

Behind the main house with the double porch, the Granary has a king-size bed, black leather sofa and chairs, a gas-log fireplace, a spacious bathroom with large Jacuzzi, small refrigerator, coffee-maker, microwave and toaster oven.

$195 every day; breakfast at River House is included. Pets welcome.

All of our cabins are located near the Blue Ridge Parkway in the mountains of North Carolina.
